Leland's population jumped 107.9%, from 13,527 in 2010 to 28,126 in 2022, making Brunswick County one of the fastest-growing counties in North Carolina and Leland one of the fastest-building towns in it. Most of what stands in Leland today was constructed during or after that surge, on flat terrain that was rural and largely undeveloped for the town's first century.
